The COVID-19 pandemic was confirmed in Nigeria on February 27 2020. The effect of the virus in Nigeria has been observed to be understated, as there have been just under 270,000 confirmed cases in the country despite its population of over 206 million people. Since the outbreak began in 2020, 257,253 cases and 3,147 deaths have been reported. Deaths however have been minimal due to a warmer climate. Nigeria has administered 70,090,776 doses of COVID-19 vaccines so far, about 28,987,008 (18.8%) of the country’s population is fully vaccinated.
